Bedingham was made to fetch it from outside off and paid the ultimate price for it. David Bedingham c Josh Hazlewood b Mitchell Starc 50(80) [4s-7]

- Welcome back! Both teams have shared a session each. Who will win the final one? It's game time in Newlands as the players amble out to the centre amidst gloomy skies. Connolly to continue. Off we go...
- AUS spinners by lengths in 2nd session Full: 0/31, 11 balls, ER: 0.54 Good: 3/19, 50 balls, ER: 2.28 Short: 0/5, 5 balls, ER: 6.00
- 15:15 Local Time, 13:15 GMT, 18:45 IST: Time for tea at Newlands. Australia, who went wicketless in the morning after opting to bowl, have fought back really well, picking up four wickets in the middle session. South Africa will be disappointed at the manner of some of those wickets. Both openers, after a dominating opening stand, gave their wickets away, allowing the Aussies a foot in the door. They had the chance to pile on the agony on a pitch that hasn't offered much help to the bowlers. But that wasn't the case. Spinners have played a role for Australia already, with Lyon picking up a couple of wickets and Connolly picking up his maiden Test wicket. They'll only get more and more into the game as it goes deeper. Nicely set up for the final session to see who takes away the advantage. Back shortly.

- 51.1WCooper Connolly to Matthew Breetzke, out Lbw!! Big shout for LBW. Australia think this is pad first, and they've gone for the review. If it is indeed pad first, it's going to be very close. Oh yes, it does look like it has brushed the pad before hitting bat. Tossed up on a length around middle and off, doesn't turn much, clips the pad as Breetzke gets forward to defend, and it's crashing into the top of off as per ball-tracking. First Test wicket for Cooper Connolly. And after looking clueless in the first session, Australia have turned this around in the second. Look at how pumped Labuschagne and Connolly are, belting out huge roars as the big-screen confirms Breetzke's dismissal. Matthew Breetzke lbw b Cooper Connolly 2(12)
