Final overs

- The players shook hands as the match ended in a hard-fought draw, with India A agonisingly close to victory, needing just one more wicket to secure the win. Curtis Heaphy proved to be the barrier for the visitors, carrying his bat through the innings to remain unbeaten on 90. He received stubborn support from last-man Lennox, with the pair frustrating the Indian attack in the final session. Overall, it was a remarkable turnaround for India A, who fought back admirably after being bundled out for just 113 in their first innings to salvage a draw on Day 4. For India A, Devdutt Padikkal was the star with the bat, though he was desperately unlucky to miss out on a double-century after being given out down the leg side for 199. With the ball, Auqib Nabi led the attack magnificently, taking three wickets in each innings, while Akash Deep and Anshul Kamboj chipped in with solid spells. Padikkal also made an impact with the ball, picking up two wickets in the second innings, including his maiden First-Class wicket. However, the New Zealand tail held firm to deny India A the final breakthrough. Poor light also played a significant factor on the final day, forcing India to operate exclusively with spin during the crucial closing overs.Despite the frustrating finish, India A will take plenty of positives from this performance as they look to hit the ground running in the second unofficial Test, starting this Saturday. Do join us then. Hope you have have enjoyed our coverage, till then good bye and take care...
