Akash Deep is a fast bowler whose cricket story began in Bihar before he relocated to Bengal to chase a career in the game. His path was shaped by personal hardship: he lost both his father and his elder brother within a short span, and responsibility for his two sisters fell to him. Even so, he kept working toward his ambition of playing at the top level.

In Bengal he steadily climbed through the system. The opening that changed things arrived in 2022, when Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) added him to their squad. From that point his progress gathered pace, and he became a consistent performer in domestic cricket.
His Test debut for India came in February 2024, against England in Ranchi. He made an instant mark, taking a couple of wickets during the opening session of the match. The selectors kept faith in him for the home Tests against Bangladesh and New Zealand, and toward the end of that year he was named in the touring party for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia.
His growing standing among India's pace options was underlined at the 2025 IPL Auction, where Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) secured his services for Rs. 8 Cr.
