Mukesh Choudhary

His first-class bow came during the 2017-18 season, when he was 21 years old, in a Ranji Trophy fixture against Railways. He built on that start in 2019 with a set of performances in the Mushtaq Ali Trophy that caught the eye and pushed his profile higher on the domestic circuit.

The big step arrived in 2022, when Chennai Super Kings brought him into their IPL squad. Injuries to several of the franchise's leading bowlers that season opened the door for him, and he was handed a generous number of appearances. He took full advantage, drawing attention for how he handled the new ball and for his ability to move it through the air.

The seasons that followed proved far less smooth. An injury ruled him out of the entire 2023 IPL campaign, and when he returned the next season he slipped back down the list of bowling options at CSK, featuring in only a single match. Chennai let him go before the mega auction, but the story with the franchise did not end there, as they brought him back into the fold for the 2025 IPL season.
