Raymon Reifer

Reifer's development has taken an unusual path. He was first regarded as an all-rounder whose main strength lay in his batting, yet with time he has become a bowler in his own right. His first-class career began in 2011, when he turned out for Combined Campuses and Colleges. Across 70 first-class matches he has gathered more than 2000 runs and claimed 159 wickets at an average of 24.81, numbers that reflect his value with both bat and ball.

Strong displays for Guyana in domestic cricket during the 2016-17 season earned him a call-up to the West Indies Test squad. A first cap did not follow straight away, and he had to be patient before getting his chance. That moment arrived in October 2017, when he made his Test debut against New Zealand. His performance did not produce headline figures, but his determination and willingness to battle drew praise.

Two years after that Test bow, Reifer broke into the West Indies white-ball side, debuting during a Tri-series held in Ireland. He was also named among the reserves for the 2019 World Cup.
