David's first steps in international cricket followed his father's path. He turned out for Singapore at the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup qualifiers. He later chose to play for Australia instead, and in 2022 he earned his first cap for his new country in a T20I against India.
His value lies in big hitting from the middle order, backed up by a bowling repertoire that covers both seam-up and off-spin. That combination quickly made him a sought-after figure on the franchise circuit. His introduction to that world came with the Perth Scorchers during the 2018/19 Big Bash League season. From there his travels took in the PSL, the CPL, The Hundred, the IPL and the SA20, and Major League Cricket was the latest addition to that list at the time the source was written.
