Matthew Gilkes

The first of his debuts across the formats came in Twenty20 cricket. Gilkes made his initial T20 appearance for the Sydney Thunder during the 2018/19 season of the Big Bash League, the competition commonly referred to as the BBL.

One season later, in 2019/20, he went on to collect two further debuts, this time in the colours of New South Wales. Over that campaign he played his first List-A fixture as well as his first first-class match for the state team. Taken together, these milestones mean he had appeared in T20, List-A and first-class cricket within the span of two consecutive seasons.
