Mayank Yadav

Dahiya was serving as assistant coach of Lucknow Super Giants at the time, and the franchise quickly signed the young quick at the 2022 IPL auctions. Even so, Mayank did not feature in the playing XI across his first two seasons with the side. He drew wider attention at the 2023 Deodhar Trophy, where his 12 wickets from 5 matches at an average of 17.58 left him tied for second on the list of leading wicket-takers.

Lucknow finally handed him an opportunity in IPL 2024, and he made an instant impression. Against Punjab Kings on debut he returned 3 for 27, removing Jonny Bairstow, Prabhsimran Singh and Jitesh Sharma. In his next outing, against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, he went one better with 3 for 17, accounting for Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green. He routinely topped 150kph, and a 156.7kph delivery in the RCB match proved to be the quickest of that season. Injury, however, restricted him to only four appearances.

India moved swiftly to bring him into the T20 side, and in October 2024 he claimed 4 wickets across 3 T20Is against Bangladesh. Lucknow then kept him for INR 11 crore ahead of the 2025 IPL mega auction. His IPL 2025 campaign lasted only two matches before a back problem forced him out of the competition. He has also turned out for India A in a couple of warm-up fixtures ahead of the T20 World Cup.
