Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is a left-handed batter from Bihar whose arrival on the big stage came at a remarkably young age. When he was only 13, he became the youngest player to be handed an IPL contract, a milestone that quickly made him a talking point across Indian cricket.

His first-class career started in January 2024, when he appeared in the Ranji Trophy and became the second youngest cricketer to play in that competition. His early outings in the tournament were not especially productive, and his first steps at that level proved difficult.
Youth cricket later in 2024 gave him a better platform to show what he could do. Turning out for India U19 in a four-day fixture against Australia U19 in Chennai, he made a century. He also added a couple of half-centuries for India at the U19 Asia Cup, which was staged in the UAE.
Rajasthan Royals saw him up close at trials in Nagpur, and their management came away impressed. At the IPL 2025 auction, held less than two months after his hundred in Chennai, the franchise bought him for INR 1.1 crore, winning a bidding contest with Delhi Capitals to secure his services.
