Jalaj Saxena is an all-rounder from Indore in Madhya Pradesh. He first appeared in the 2007/08 season and has since built a long and consistent first-class record. Across that career he has scored more than 5000 runs and claimed over 200 wickets, numbers that reflect a genuine contribution with both bat and ball.

His early seasons were spent representing Madhya Pradesh, his home state. In 2016 he changed teams and joined Kerala. The move paid off quickly. At the start of the 2017/18 Ranji Trophy campaign he led the competition's wicket-taking charts, with 29 dismissals from 4 matches, and was regarded as one of the standout all-rounders of that tournament.
The high point of his domestic career came in the 2014-15 season. That year he totalled 768 runs and 20 wickets in first-class matches and received the Lala Amarnath award as the best all-rounder. Royal Challengers Bangalore later bought him at auction for INR 10 Lakh, a signing the source links to that strong season.
That was not his first contact with the Indian Premier League. Back in 2013, Mumbai Indians brought him in as a replacement for Lendl Simmons.
Cricket also runs in his family. His brother, Jatin, plays for Chhattisgarh.
