KeralaBatter
Baby is a left-handed batter from Kerala whose name is a tribute to Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar. He came into the world just a week after Tendulkar's first international appearance. Where his namesake batted right-handed, Baby took guard from the other side.
His first-class career began in 2009, and his average in that format sits in the early thirties. The shorter game is where he has made his mark. As Kerala's captain, he has led the side in 40 T-20 matches, more than any other player has captained in the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament. His T20 numbers are not spectacular, but brisk, determined scoring from the middle order has made him a valuable member of the team.
In the Indian Premier League, his first chance came in 2013 with Rajasthan Royals, a squad that also included fellow Kerala players Sreesanth and Sanju Samson. Opportunities with the bat were scarce. Across four appearances he went out to bat only once.
He was then overlooked for two seasons before Royal Challengers Bangalore signed him. In his season with them he was given more of a role, batting in 6 innings and contributing several useful short knocks. That campaign ended in disappointment, with Bangalore losing the final. The following season he spent most of the tournament out of the side. Sunrisers Hyderabad later picked him up for IPL 2018.
