New South WalesBowler
Tanveer Singh Sangha is a leg-spinner from Australia who turns out for New South Wales. His path to senior cricket ran through the national age-group pathway, where he built his reputation before stepping into the professional game.
His breakthrough on a global stage arrived at the 2020 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Representing Australia, he claimed 15 wickets across only 6 matches, a return that marked him as one of the more promising young spinners at the tournament.
Domestic Twenty20 cricket soon followed. Sangha debuted in the format with the Sydney Thunder during the 2020/21 Big Bash League, and by the end of that campaign only two bowlers had taken more wickets than him. That form prompted the Australian selectors to name him for a T20I series against New Zealand, although he did not make his international bow on that occasion.
His first appearance for Australia came a couple of years later, in a series against South Africa, and he made an immediate mark by returning figures of 4/31. Roughly a month after that, he added a One Day International debut, coming in a series against India.
Away from Australian cricket, Sangha has also been part of the Birmingham Phoenix side in The Hundred.
