ZimbabweWicketkeeper batter
Tadiwanashe Marumani is a Zimbabwean cricketer who bats left-handed in the top order. Alongside his batting, he is able to take the gloves as a wicket-keeper, which gives selectors a useful second option when picking him.
His profile first rose with Zimbabwe's Under-19 side in 2020. He was not included in the team when that tournament began, but once he got his chance he made it count against Scotland, posting innings of 85 and 90. Those two knocks marked him out as a batter worth watching.
Senior recognition followed in April 2021, when he was named for Zimbabwe's home One-Day International series against Pakistan. A first appearance did not come in that series, though. Marumani had to be patient until July 2021, when he finally made his international debut, with Bangladesh as the opposition.
For now he remains on the edges of the national set-up rather than a regular starter. Still, he is young, and his blend of top-order batting and wicket-keeping means he is seen as someone who could grow into an important part of the Zimbabwe side in the years ahead.
