Jammu and KashmirBatter
Qamraan is a batsman from Jammu and Kashmir who is known for playing in an aggressive style at the top of the order. He is counted among a small group of players from the state to draw wide attention, following Parveez Rasool and Manzoor Dar, which makes him the third name on that short list.
His progress came quickly. Heavy scoring for his state in both the Under-16 and Under-19 age groups earned him a place in the U-19 Quadrangular Trophy, a competition featuring India A, India B, Afghanistan U-19 and Nepal U-19.
Qamraan represented India B in that tournament. On debut he came in at No. 5 and set aside his usual aggression, grinding out 51 to steer his side to a comfortable win. He followed that with a more expansive effort in his second outing, striking 89 to guide India B to victory over Afghanistan U-19.
Those performances helped him earn a spot among 30 probables for the India Under-19 team. He was not, however, included when the group was trimmed to a final squad of 15. Described as tall and still young, he remains a player from the valley whose development is being followed with interest.
