Saini's threat comes less from raw speed than from swing and a disciplined line, which can make him trickier to face than his pace alone would suggest. His strong domestic form sparked competition among several IPL franchises, and Royal Challengers Bangalore eventually landed him for INR 3 crore.
India came calling in 2019, when he played his first ODI and T20I matches. A Test cap followed during a tour of Australia, after injuries ruled out many of the country's frontline quicks, and he made his debut in Sydney. Fitness problems of his own have repeatedly interrupted his progress and made it harder for him to bowl with consistency. In July 2022 he joined Kent for a short spell of county cricket.
His IPL path began after a T20 debut for Delhi in 2016. The Delhi Daredevils picked him up at his base price of Rs. 10 lakh before the 2017 season, but he spent that campaign on the sidelines. At RCB he was a regular member of the squad in 2019 and 2020, though the side's struggles and his costly economy rate saw his profile fade. He remained with RCB until 2021, then moved to RR for the 2022 IPL, where he featured in just two matches and made little impression.
