DelhiAll-rounder
Ayush Badoni is a Delhi cricketer whose career has swung from being overlooked to becoming a trusted figure. Short in stature but capable of real damage with the bat, the right-hander is valued above all for quick scoring. He also bowls useful off-spin and brings plenty of energy in the field, a combination that makes him particularly well suited to T20 cricket.
Badoni came through Sonnet Cricket Club, the well-known nursery that also produced Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant. Rahul Dravid noticed him, and he earned a place in India's U-19 team. A series against Sri Lanka's U-19 side brought him attention. In the first four-day match he took 4 wickets for 24 runs from 9.3 overs, 2 of them maidens. Batting at No.7, he then hammered 185 from 202 deliveries.
Those displays did not immediately open doors. For years he struggled to win a spot in the Delhi team, and he went unsold at the IPL auction for a couple of seasons. The breakthrough finally arrived in 2022, when LSG signed him with Gautam Gambhir's support. On debut, in the franchise's first ever match, he walked in with LSG reeling at 29/4 and struck 54 from 41 balls, helping lift the total to 158. Captain KL Rahul afterwards likened him to AB de Villiers, praising his punch and his ability to hit all around the ground.
From there his standing kept rising. The player who once could not get into Delhi's side was leading them in domestic cricket by 2024. Before the 2025 IPL season, LSG kept him as one of their five retained players. As an uncapped Indian batter, he has a record of 329 runs at an average of 32.90 with a strike rate of 148.19.
