Lizelle Lee is a South African cricketer who opens the batting with an attacking, boundary-hunting approach that has made her well known in the women's international game. She first played for her country at 21, which counts as relatively late, yet she soon became a key figure in the national side.

At domestic level Lee plays for North West province. She first drew wide notice there with an unbeaten 169 that took only 84 deliveries. Her path in the national team was not straightforward. Although she began as an opener, she was moved further down the batting order before eventually returning to the top and making the position her own.
One of her standout moments for South Africa came at the 2014 World T20. Batting alongside Dane van Niekerk against Pakistan, she shared an unbeaten opening partnership of 163, which was a record at the time.
Lee also keeps wicket, giving the side extra balance, particularly when the experienced Trisha Chetty has been unavailable. She has been central to South Africa's recent progress at the top of the order, including the team's run to the semi-finals of the 2017 ICC Women's World Cup. Her talent has also taken her to Twenty20 leagues in several countries, where she now plays regularly.
