Fareed Malik is an Afghan cricketer who bowls left-arm medium pace, a less common skill in a national side that has built its identity around spin. Because Afghanistan tend to field more slow bowlers than seamers, chances for Malik at international level have been scarce.

His first appearance in One Day Internationals came in 2014, and the source describes his ODI tally as just 5 matches. Both his ODI and T20I debuts were made against the UAE. Ireland, however, is the opponent against whom he has done his best work.
That best came in an ODI at Noida, where Malik claimed three Irish wickets. His spell helped Afghanistan to a comfortable victory in the match. Away from international duty, he has impressed in the Afghanistan Premier League, though breaking into a playing XI that leans so heavily on spin remains a challenge for him.
