Noor Ahmad is a left-arm mystery spinner from Afghanistan whose bowling is often likened to a reflection of his compatriot Rashid Khan, working the same kind of craft from the opposite hand. He made a name for himself in Afghan cricket while still very young, and at the age of 15 he earned a place in Afghanistan's squad for the 2020 Under-19 World Cup.

That early exposure opened up opportunities on the franchise circuit. He has played for St Lucia Kings in the CPL, Melbourne Renegades in the BBL and Karachi Kings in the PSL. In 2021, Chennai Super Kings took him on as a net bowler.
His first proper IPL chance arrived in 2023, when Gujarat Titans signed him. He made a strong start, collecting 16 wickets across his opening 13 matches, and his combination with Rashid Khan gave opposing batters a demanding spin pair to face. The same year marked the beginning of a regular role for him in the Afghanistan national team, and he has since appeared at the ODI World Cup and the 2024 T20I World Cup.
He was also named in Afghanistan's squad for the 2025 Champions Trophy as his international career continues to develop. On the franchise front, he was one of the most sought-after names at the IPL 2025 auction, where Chennai Super Kings secured his services for a fee of 10 crore.
