India WomenAll-rounder
Tejal Hasabnis is an Indian cricketer from Pune, Maharashtra, where she was born on August 16, 1997. She bats right-handed and bowls right-arm off-breaks, and she has been used by the Indian women's team as a middle-order batter.
Her route to the national side ran through the domestic game, where she turned out for Maharashtra and for West Zone. In Women's List A cricket she has gathered more than 1,800 runs, a tally that includes three hundreds and 12 fifties. Her off-spin has also contributed, bringing her 25 wickets at an average of 26.96.
That body of work led to an ODI call-up, and she first played for India in October 2024, facing New Zealand at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Her breakthrough came in her third match in the format, in January 2025 in Rajkot. Against Ireland, she finished not out on 53 from 46 deliveries as India comfortably reached a target of 239.
Hasabnis likes to take the initiative at the crease and can shift tempo as a game demands. Asked about her preferences in an interview, she made clear that batting second suits her, saying, "I love chasing."
Away from the field, she has given time to social causes in her home city. Prompted by Sachin Tendulkar's appeal for people to give blood, she became a donor herself and urged others in Pune to follow. During the COVID-19 pandemic she worked alongside local colleges and organisations to help set up blood donation camps.
