Shree Charani

Her path was not without setbacks. She missed selection for India's Under-19 World Cup squad, but strong performances at Under-23 level brought her to wider attention. That form earned her a place in the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025 auction, where Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals competed for her signature. Delhi Capitals eventually secured her for INR 55 lakh.

Charani's first WPL outing came against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and she chipped in with a couple of important wickets. Her next game for Delhi Capitals was the 2025 WPL final itself. She took two wickets on that occasion, though she conceded runs freely, and Delhi Capitals had to settle for second place.

Later in 2025, aged 20, she stepped onto the international stage in the limited-overs formats. Her T20I debut came against England in Nottingham, where she claimed four wickets.

As a bowler, Charani relies on a reliable, repeatable action, bowling with control and pushing the ball through quickly. Her athleticism also makes her a sharp presence in the field. Even so, India's spin attack is deep and experienced, which has made regular selection in the national playing XI difficult for her.
