Indrajith is a cricketer who contributes with both bat and ball. He is the older of the two Baba twins, and his main job is in the middle order, where he is joined by a handy line in leg-spin that makes him a genuine all-rounder.
His first-class career began in the 2013-14 season. His batting is traditional in approach, and his development owed much to the influence of senior figures such as Abhinav Mukund, Murali Vijay, Subramanium Badrinath and Dinesh Karthik. That classical foundation has not stopped him from playing a wide variety of strokes, and he is capable of attacking bowlers when the moment calls for it.
His path to bigger honours has been slowed by not having a presence in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Even so, his habit of building large innings has kept him on the edge of selection. That habit was on display when he was picked for India Green in the 2018-19 Duleep Trophy: he marked his selection with a hundred in the opening game and went on to top the run-scoring charts for his side in the competition.
