Rinku Singh

His attacking style earned him a place in the Uttar Pradesh under-16 side in 2013, followed a couple of years later by selection for the state's under-19 team. At a Mumbai Indians camp he smashed 95 off only 31 balls, and in the 2018 Vijay Hazare Trophy he struck an unbeaten 91 from 44 deliveries for Uttar Pradesh against Tripura.

Kings XI Punjab first signed him for the 2017 IPL at a base price of Rs. 10 lakhs. At the 2018 auction, Kolkata Knight Riders paid Rs. 80 lakhs, four times his Rs. 20 lakhs base price, in a set of lesser-known signings that also included Shivam Mavi and Kamlesh Nagarkoti. Opportunities were scarce at first, yielding 29 runs across 4 appearances, yet the franchise chose to keep him.

In 2022 he was given a more extended run and made 172 runs. Against Lucknow Super Giants he nearly won a steep chase with 40 from 15 balls, though KKR fell short by 2 runs. The 2023 season saw him take on the finisher's role, easing the load on Andre Russell. His most famous moment came against Gujarat Titans, when he struck Yash Dayal for five sixes in a row in the last over to snatch an unlikely win, and he produced further late-innings rescues against PBKS and CSK.

Those performances led the BCCI selectors to name him for India's away T20I series in Ireland, and he has since become a preferred finisher for the national side. During IPL 2025 he continued to bat in the middle and lower-middle order for KKR, delivering several useful innings under pressure.
