The 2017/18 season marked his arrival in senior cricket. He first played T20 cricket for the Perth Scorchers that season, and he was later named in Western Australia's Shield squad at the age of 20.
After a single season with the Scorchers, Philippe joined the Sydney Sixers. His strong form there earned him an IPL deal with the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2020, before he had played for his country. His returns in that stint were modest.
International recognition followed soon after. Philippe received his T20I cap in February 2021 during a series against New Zealand, and he made his ODI debut later that year in a series against the West Indies. He has not become a fixture in the national side, but he remains firmly on the selectors' radar.
