KenyaAll-rounder
Kenyan cricketer Nelson Mandela Odhiambo carries the name of the celebrated African leader. He is a young bowler of medium-fast pace whose development has taken him through Kenya's Under-19 side and its A team. His batting is considered rough around the edges, but his bowling has shown enough to mark him out as a player of promise.
Cricket runs in his family. Thomas Odoyo, a long-serving figure in Kenyan cricket, is his uncle, and the two once shared the new ball for Kenya. That moment came at the World Cricket League Division One event staged in the Netherlands in July 2010.
His senior international career began in February 2010, when he played his first T20I against Scotland. Only a few days afterwards he added an ODI debut, this time facing the Netherlands. Results in both formats have been modest so far, and he has yet to make a major mark at that level. The high point of his one-day bowling, as of May 2014, came against Scotland in June 2013, when he returned figures of 3/48.
