Rosemary Mair

Her international career began in February 2019. A strong domestic campaign earned her a Twenty20 International debut against India that month, and her first One Day International followed within the same month, against Australia. In 2019 she also drew wide attention in an inter-district fixture for Hawke's Bay, where she produced a double hat-trick maiden and ended with remarkable figures of 4-4-0-4.

The next few years brought selection without regular cricket. Mair was in the New Zealand squad for the 2020 T20 World Cup, the 2022 Commonwealth Games and the 2023 World Cup, but she was often left out of the starting eleven. A mix of injuries and uneven form meant she featured in no international matches at all in 2023, and a back problem later interrupted her attempt to return. She regained fitness in time for the following major tournament.

That tournament, the 2024 T20 World Cup, ended with New Zealand lifting the trophy for the first time, and Mair was central to the success. In the opening game against India she took four wickets for 19 runs, the best figures of her career, and in the final against South Africa she claimed three more. Her 12 wickets across 6 matches placed her third among the tournament's leading wicket-takers.
