WarriorsAll-rounder
Patrick Kruger is an all-rounder on the books of the Knights, and he is best known for attacking batting in Twenty20 cricket. His approach in the shortest format is aggressive, and he scores quickly when set.
His best T20 innings came in September 2018 at Paarl, in an Africa T20 Cup fixture between Northern Cape and Nigeria. Kruger finished unbeaten on 86, hitting seven sixes and five fours. He and Gift Mokoena put on 128 together at the top of the order, setting up an 8-wicket victory for Northern Cape with 30 balls still remaining. That knock stands as his highest score in the format.
Kruger's batting is not limited to the short game. He has made one hundred in first-class cricket and another in List-A matches. March 2018 was a productive month for him in the Sunfoil Series with the Knights. In the opening week of that month he reached 102 against the Lions. A few days later, at East London, he posted 44 and 87 in the two innings against the Warriors. Neither game produced a winner, as both were drawn, but Kruger contributed significant runs on each occasion.
Twenty20 is said to be the format he enjoys most of the three, and his batting average in it sits above 30.
