Jason Smith

With the bat, Smith operates in the top order. He adds to that role by bowling right-arm medium pace, giving his side a useful extra option with the ball when it is needed.

His route to the higher levels of the game began in the lower leagues, and he progressed from there. Along the way he earned selection for South Africa at Under-19 level and later for the South Africa 'A' side. His appearances for the 'A' team include a tour of England in 2017 and a series played at home against India 'A'.

Smith is well thought of within the domestic game and is viewed as a player with real promise. That standing led the Cape Town Knight Riders to sign him for the inaugural edition of the Global T20 league.
