Musheer Khan

The 2023-24 Ranji Trophy was the campaign that brought him to wider attention. Across that season he totalled 433 runs, and his average of 108.25 underlines how rarely bowlers managed to dismiss him. His contributions were a significant factor in Mumbai's progress through the competition.

Two knockout innings stood out. In the quarter-final against Baroda he made a double hundred, an effort that helped carry Mumbai into the next round. In the final against Vidarbha he added a century in a winning cause, and Mumbai lifted the Ranji Trophy for the 42nd time. He was named Player of the Match in that title-deciding game.

Earlier in 2024, Musheer had also been among the runs for India at the Under-19 World Cup, where he registered two centuries. At franchise level, Punjab Kings bought him at an IPL auction held in Jeddah, securing him for his base price of 30 lakh. Whether he gets chances in their starting eleven remains to be seen.
