KnightsWicketkeeper batter
Gihahn Cloete is a wicketkeeper who bats left-handed. The players he holds up as role models are Matthew Hayden and Kumar Sangakkara.
His domestic career has been long and productive. He has played more than 100 first-class matches, and his solid performances for the Warriors drew attention beyond that side. That form led the Tshwane Spartans to sign him for the 2018 edition of the MSL.
International recognition arrived when Cloete was named in a squad for a T20I series against Zimbabwe, a selection he counts as the high point of his career. The moment grew even bigger when he played his first T20I, at East London in October 2018.
Despite his long experience, Cloete has a relaxed and easygoing personality. He sees himself as the joker of the dressing room and enjoys playing pranks on teammates, and that lively, playful temperament also shows in the way he approaches his batting.
