Sandeep Warrier

His first-class career began in 2012, when he made his debut in a match against Goa. In the years that followed he has turned out in close to 40 first-class fixtures, and his tally in that format has passed 100 wickets. Movement through the air is the central feature of his bowling, and he pairs that swing with an ability to get the ball to rise sharply off the pitch, which can catch batters off guard. When he settles into a good rhythm, that combination of swing and lift becomes hard to handle. In the Ranji Trophy he has collected a good number of four-wicket and five-wicket returns, a record credited to the accuracy of his bowling.

Warrier's role is not limited to the red-ball game. He also features for Kerala in List A and T20 competitions, and over recent seasons he has produced several important displays for the state in the shorter formats. A notable example came in the 2018-19 edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, where his 12 wickets made him the top wicket-taker for Kerala in that tournament.
