SaurashtraBatter
Aarpit Vasavada is a right-handed batter and a seasoned figure in Indian domestic cricket, representing Saurashtra. His first-class career has stretched to nearly 50 matches, and his average in that format sits in the mid 30s.
His first-class debut came in 2011, when Saurashtra took on Railways. That Saurashtra side featured several players who went on to become prominent names, including Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravindra Jadeja and Jaydev Unadkat. Slotted in at number 7, Vasavada made 14 and then 17 in his opening two innings, and Saurashtra came away with a comfortable victory.
Now past the age of 30, Vasavada still delivers useful performances for his team from time to time. A notable recent example was an innings of 120 against Baroda, made from the number 3 position. That game ended in a draw, with both sides piling up more than 500 runs. In List A cricket he has come agonisingly close to a hundred without yet reaching one, his best effort in the format being 99.
