Karnali YaksAll-rounder
Mohammad Hussain Talat is a cricketer from Lahore who bats left-handed and also sends down military-medium-pace deliveries. He was only 16 when Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) handed him a contract for the Ramadan T20 cup, a tournament staged in Karachi.
His early List A outings were highly productive. Across his first four matches in that format he gathered 272 runs, averaging 90.66, and his best effort in that run was 141. In the President's Cup in Pakistan he put together innings of 67, 52 and 12 before finishing with an unbeaten 141. Those performances were followed by selection for the Pakistan Under-19 side in the 2013-14 season.
It was his work with the bat that first earned him selection as a youngster and carried him through the ranks to First-class cricket. He kept developing his seam bowling alongside it, and over time this has given his teams extra balance. In the longer, red-ball game he has been able to make an impact in both disciplines. In the shorter formats his role is chiefly that of a batsman who offers the occasional spell with the ball.
Talat has expressed a desire to establish himself as an all-rounder for Pakistan. He has not yet represented his country at senior level, and sustained consistency in domestic cricket is seen as the key to earning that opportunity.
