UnattachedAll-rounder
Michael Nicholas Erlank is a South African cricketer whose primary role is with the bat. He was born in Kimberley, in what was then Cape Province, on July 4, 1990. Alongside his batting he offers a part-time option with the ball, sending down off-spin at a gentle pace.
The innings most closely tied to his name came in a final of the Sunfoil 3-day Cup played in Durban. Representing KwaZulu-Natal against Namibia, Erlank compiled 139, staying at the crease for more than 50 overs and keeping the opposition attack in the field for a long stretch. His contribution set up a heavy win for his side, who beat Namibia by an innings and 25 runs.
Erlank first established himself as a middle-order batsman. His captain later promoted him higher up the batting order, and he has gone on to accumulate close to 5000 runs in first-class cricket. He has also been associated with the Knights.
