Valli's first-class debut came for Gauteng in March 2014 in a three-day fixture against Easterns. Coming in at number 7, he finished not out on 20, and he also sent down a few overs with the ball. The game ended in a draw. That same match also marked the first-class debut of Kagiso Rabada, meaning the two began their careers at this level together.
Over time Valli has appeared for a range of sides. Beyond his school and Gauteng, these include Gauteng Under-19s, South Africa Under-19s, South Africa Colts XI and the Lions. He was later selected in the Highveld Lions squad for the 2018–19 season.
One of his notable contributions came for SA Emerging in August 2017, when he struck a hundred in a one-day contest against Zimbabwe A. His innings helped his team clinch that series.
As a batter, Valli is regarded as having a sound method, and he favours the off side for the bulk of his scoring strokes.
