Northern CapeAll-rounder
Tshepo Ntuli is a South African off-spinner who has chosen a demanding path. Pitches in his country tend to reward seam bowling, so slow bowlers there often find themselves pushed to the margins of the game. Ntuli has embraced the craft regardless and takes evident pleasure in turning the ball.
His journey from provincial amateur to first-class professional did not happen overnight. It came through steady, gradual progress. That same patience defines his bowling. He is willing to give the ball air and keep inviting batters to attack him, even after he has been struck for runs. Many spinners lose their nerve once they are hit, but Ntuli does not let that worry shape his approach.
His commitment has been recognised at national level. He earned a place at South Africa's annual spin bowling camp in both 2015 and 2016. In 2016 he was also picked by Free State to play in the Africa T20 Cup, a further step in a career built on persistence and a fondness for flight.
