Faheem Ashraf is a Pakistani cricketer who plays as a fast bowling all-rounder. He began as a pace bowler, and he is one of several all-rounders of that type competing for places in a Pakistan side with plenty of options in that role.

His batting first drew wide notice at the Champions Trophy in 2017. In a warm-up fixture against Bangladesh before the tournament, he struck 64 from just 30 balls. That kind of aggressive hitting suits the pinch-hitter role, and Pakistan tested the idea during a tour of New Zealand, sending him in as an opener in one of the one-day internationals. The move did not come off, as he failed in that innings.
His standout moment with the ball came against Sri Lanka in October 2017. In a Twenty20 International, he removed Isuru Udana, Mahela Udawatte and Dasun Shanaka with consecutive deliveries. The hat-trick made him the first Pakistan bowler ever to take one in the T20I format.
With rival all-rounders pressing for selection, earning a regular spot in the playing XI depends on Ashraf producing match-winning displays like that one more often. Sustained form would put him in contention for a meaningful role in Pakistan's squad for the 2019 World Cup.
