At international level his opportunities have been limited. He has appeared once in One Day Internationals and once in Test cricket, while his Twenty20 International outings have come only now and then since he first played the format for South Africa in 2022.
Franchise cricket is where Stubbs has drawn the most interest. His list of employers already includes Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Jaffna Kings and Manchester Originals. Closer to home, he is regarded as a key member of Sunrisers Eastern Cape, the side that claimed the first SA20 championship. Teams around the world have shown they value his attacking batting, even as he looks to establish himself more firmly in South Africa's international setup.
