Rajesh Mohanty

His first List-A appearance came in September 2018, when he turned out for Odisha in a Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Andhra. The outing was a difficult one for the young seamer, as Odisha were beaten heavily in that game.

Mohanty later took a leading role with the ball for India in the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup, where he was given the job of opening the bowling. Operating at a gentle medium pace, he regularly posed problems for opposing batsmen in the early overs, though he was unable to convert that pressure into wickets with the new ball.

India went on to beat Sri Lanka in the final of that tournament. When Mohanty returned home afterwards, a group of his supporters gathered at Bhubaneswar Airport to greet him, placing a garland around his neck and hoisting him onto their shoulders as he came through the gate.
