Gurjapneet Singh is a left-arm seam bowler whose route into top-level cricket took him a long way from where he started. He comes from Ludhiana, but at the age of 17 he relocated to Chennai to chase a future in the game. Living far from home in the south of the country, he developed and sharpened the abilities that would later get him noticed.

His first real platform arrived through the Tamil Nadu Premier League. Dindigul Dragons selected him for the 2021 edition, handing him a chance to show what he could do. By 2023 he was playing for Siechem Madurai Panthers, and he wrapped up that campaign with 15 wickets to his name.
The year 2024 brought his first appearances for Tamil Nadu, with debuts in both the Ranji Trophy and the Mushtaq Ali Trophy. One Ranji outing against Saurashtra stood out above the rest: he returned figures of 6/22, and among his victims was the India batter Cheteshwar Pujara, sent back without scoring.
His connection with the Indian Premier League also began in 2024, when he worked as a net bowler for CSK. That stint led the franchise to bring him into their squad for the 2025 IPL season.
