Riley Meredith

His first taste of senior domestic cricket came in January 2017, when, aged 21, he turned out for a Cricket Australia XI against the touring Pakistan side. That same year he became a fixture in Tasmania's squad for the Australia Domestic One-Day Cup. When Jackson Bird was unavailable in the closing phase of the tournament, Meredith stepped up to spearhead the attack.

His showings in limited-overs cricket earned him a chance in the first-class game, and in November 2017 he played his maiden Sheffield Shield match for Tasmania, facing Victoria. He kept developing his craft after that early breakthrough, and the 2018/19 season brought his first appearance in the BBL, with the Hobart Hurricanes.

Meredith's pace drew attention well beyond Australia. In February 2021 the Punjab Kings signed him for the IPL, and before that year was out he had earned an international cap, debuting for Australia in a T20I against New Zealand. He later spent the 2022 and 2023 seasons with the Mumbai Indians.
